Meeting starts at 11:15 A.M. and ends at 2 PM. Lunch is served around Noon.

The building is near the middle of 106th Avenue. Turn onto 106th drive down about 1/3 of a mile then right into the Elks Lodge parking lot.
Preserving the Legacy of the WW II Generation. The group is dedicated to recording those who served in the war by collecting the photos of the people.
“Our Mission: To commemorate the achievements and virtues of the World War II generation, on the 2nd Sunday of every August, so as to inspire future generations.”
This year their focus is on airpower of WW II.
WW II officially ended on December 31, 1946. Most people think of the end of WW II when The Empire of Japan surrendered on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945.
A Hot meal lunch is available for purchase at the meeting for $13.00 which includes gratuity.

Meetings are open to everyone. You do NOT have to be a member to attend meetings.
Past meetings are transcribed and posted on the 8thafhsoregon.com web site. Most meetings are also taped and are available on DVD.
This non-profit organization is for anyone who has an interest in the 8th Air Force in its roll in defeating Germany during World War II. The meeting is valuable to anyone interested in the history of WWII European Air Combat.
There are currently 80 members who flew combat in the 8th AF (and another 20 who flew in other theatres and / or wars.)
To join the Oregon Chapter fill out the form at the meeting and present it to the treasurer. The annual dues is $10. In addition, you can join the national organization whose dues are $25 a year. The national chapter puts out a quarterly magazine while the Oregon chapter puts out a quarterly newsletter plus a monthly chapter news update.
